Strong Weekend for Shipton Despite a Puncture

The weekend started off strong for round 2 of the MX Nationals, with Jake placing in the top 10 during qualifying. It looked as though he would take 2nd in race 1, but luck wasn't on his side when he picked up a puncture 15 minutes in and didn't finish.

Despite the setback in race 1, Jake pulled it back for race 2, riding hard and fast for a strong 5th place, leaving him taking home 11th overall.

Jake's got another big weekend coming up as he prepares to take on round 4 of the MAXXIS British Championships at Hawkstone.

"Another positive daywith a bit of bad luck. Race 1 got to a good start, in 2nd place, challengingfor the lead and feeling good. 15 minutes in though got a puncture so didn'tfinish. Started well again in race 2 and worked my way into 5th and managed tostay there until the end. Moving closer to the front which feels goodconsidering the steady start to the season!"

"Jake is now ridinglike we know he is capable of. The first half of the race was a fantasticeffort from him, he was challenging for the lead and had repelled challengesfrom behind only to be cheated of a top result by a rear wheel puncture. A goodride in race 2 to build confidence and momentum moving into next weeks BritishChampionship round at the legendary Hawkstone Park."
