Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team joins forces with Yamaha Motor Finance for Phillip Island

Phillip Island, Australia – Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team has today announced a partnership with Yamaha Motor Finance (YMF) for round one of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK)

The team partnership augments YMF's ongoing sponsorship of the Yamaha Finance Australian Round of WorldSBK taking place this weekend at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and the national Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK).

YMF is a 100% owned subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Australia Pty Ltd, established to give Yamaha customers access to specially tailored finance packages and making their dreams a reality. The unique relationship provides real value as well as understanding and catering for motorcycle and marine products in Australia.

Paul Denning, Team Principal at Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team, said:“It's great to partner with Yamaha Motor Finance for the first round of the WorldSBK season. Yamaha as a brand is very strong in Australia and the whole Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team always enjoys coming here to kick off our championship campaign with plenty of local support. Our preparation is all but complete for this weekend's races and we look forward to delivering a good result with Yamaha Motor Finance featured on our two YZF-R1s.”

Andrew Eldridge, Head of Sales at Yamaha Motor Finance, said: “The Yamaha Finance Australian Round is a fantastic event for us, as title sponsor we are part of a premier international event taking place within Australia that compliments what we do within the Australian Superbike Championship series. Yamaha Motor Finance supports juniors developing their talent, as well as all levels of competition through to the top national level for ASBK. Working with the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team for the first round of the WorldSBK season is simply a really nice extension of our existing activities and we wish Alex and Michael the best of luck for Saturday and Sunday's races.”

After finishing third in the Manufacturer Standings at the end of the 2017, the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team, run by Crescent Racing, is looking to improve on its position and challenge for race victories in 2018. Armed with two incredibly capable riders, Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark who finished last season fifth and sixth respectively, the team is poised to capitalise on its potential.
